Hip Strength and Active Opening

Nice long warm up to get toasty with mobility drills, hip strength. Expect opening all around the hips joint - front hip flexors, inside adductors, outside piriformis/glutes/IT bands, and pelvic floor. We do pigeon several times - both going up and pushing into the ground to rise up and undulating/folding in over the pigeon. Baby Grasshopper is riffed on. The lower back muscle, quadrates lomborum, connecting pelvis to back ribs is given a hearty stretch. The core is challenged. A slow gradual unfurling from lotus legs up the wall and some supine eagles and adductor awakening completes the practice pulling us back into midline. Sumptuous Restorative pose finishes this wildcard practice to soothe and quiet.
