Protect Your Grounding

We begin priming the body through rotation of the ribcage. These gentle twists flush and revitalize. They ignite our inner engine. By getting unstuck in our ribcage we unlock our full yogic breath, restore inner spaciousness and ease for the organic body, enjoy yummy spiral movement patterns that just feel joyful and easeful to travel through, and soften tensions we carry around the neck, chest, and shoulders from anxiety, fear, and stress. Class flows through strong sun salutations, plentiful Goddess Pose and Fierce Pose to get really quite nice and warm, and standing warrior flows focusing on opening the chest and engaging the upper back. We get upside down a few times and work our compression core to slow the descent out of Handstand. Backbends at the wall make space for folks with wrist limitations to access Urdhva Danurasana, Upright Bow Pose. We finish with a really nice sequence of twists, sidebands, and sumptuous hang off of two yoga blocks with a sandbag to open and release the back body and melt into a nice propped up and super supported Savasana and a gentle reminder from this space of stability and ease that you are safe, you are supported, and you are open to change.
