Blooming into Backbends

We start with Chest Openers and transform them into core work. After opening the heart we strengthen the shoulder girdle and move into a seedling flow and play with different ways to practice child’s pose. A mandala flow takes us all around the mat and moving and stretching in all dirctions. Backbends to strengthen the legs and awaken the coil of the upper thoracic deepen and we finish with some hip flexor and hamstring lengthening at the wall into a series of 4 strong backbends including chances to “walk up and down” the wall and consider what is needed for drop backs and getting back up from standing to Urdhva Danurasana. A spicy practice.
