Fluidity and Integration is possible for you too.
Somatic practice is designed to facilitate deeper awareness through movement. When we move slow and drop into the gravitational pull, we avail ourselves to explore presence over preference. This drives us deeper into the heart of curiosity which opens the aperture of creativity and connection we long for. And when we align that longing with embodied movement we find bliss. Your body is the vessel for your awakening. And Somatic Practice is a safe space to work with trauma, injury, and rupture at your own pace and find greater coherence and in your nervous system.
Cultivate awareness. Center feeling over Doing. Open to possibility you never imagined. Unlock neural pathways your body is longing to express for safety, connection, fluidity, and integration. Heal emotional guarding and resisting that has fragmented and stagnated in your body. Experience your body through a lens of ease, compassion, and patience. The practice is an invitation to all levels of your Being to slow down.
You deepen compassionate awareness by embracing your Signature Shape rather than starting by correcting and fixing ourselves like so many modern yoga classes do. You invite consciousness into spaces in your body that feel inhibited, injured, or numb. You are guided into a deep meditative state where you can connect with the innate wisdom that resides within your body. It is a beautifully healing practice to open towards Spring.
So many of us have approached movement and exercise from a space of forcing, striving, and punishing our bodies for decades, that there is a deep unlearning that is needed to reclaim our body’s innate wisdom to heal, thrive, and awaken to uninhibited embodied presence. Like a crab slipping under a rock or an insect burrowing under tree bark, sometimes we need to slip under the radar of striving and forcing to attune on a deeper level to the true force that is always already humming under the surface. What we can feel we can heal.
The force that is not forced is the true force.
- Lao Tzu
Accessible to all levels, ages, and sizes (aside from pregnancy - due to prone and supine positions this is not the best prenatal practice) all you need for a Somatic Practice with Lily is a yoga mat and a woven blanket to cover your mat and turn your sticky mat into a slippery mat. The entire practice is done lying down: on your back, side, and belly as you move through gentle and accessible ranges of movement to remap neural pathways to facilitate healing. These practices are all experienced low to the ground on a mat covered in a yoga blanket, gently and fluidly, like kelp in the ocean waves.
Somatic Movement practice feels akin to vinyasa in the linking of breath and movement, yin yoga in the the deliberate slowing down and attuning to deeper held sensations, Yoga Nidra in the dive under the radar of habit and forcing, and myofascial release in the integrated opening of large swaths of fascia that run head to toe. Throughout the practice you are given permission to truly go at your own pace and honor your own inner experience. You can always slow down, pause, and repeat material that resonates. It is a truly healing practice that will touch all five dimensions of your Being: Physical Body, Emotional Body, Mental Body, Wisdom Body, and Bliss Body. Join us and learn to be gentle with yourself.
